A collaboration between, respectively, Dutch and German design studios Femke Roefs and Leoni Werle, 3D printing technology has been applied to the creation of decorative clothing buttons. These Spirograph-inspired designs were realized via a layered printing method that shows off the buttons’ intricate detailing. Comprised of a plastic composite derived from, among other sources, cornstarch and sugarcane, the buttons are said to be biodegradable “under certain conditions.”
