Known for extending the roof line and wall lines beyond the interior space creating drama as well as shade, Mario Martins designs a home in Lagos, just south of  Portugal which would make you wonder why anyone would ever leave for a vacation.  In the case of the Colunata house, his line extends to a half circle providing protection from the wind and visual appeal with a sweeping element which the pool then echoes in form and moves beyond to the seascape.  The voluminous ceiling interiors leave plenty of windows for a great view.
