What’s that? Is that the tiniest hint of spring on the tail end of that breeze? Right outside my window is this giant bush that’s been dead-looking for awhile; first because of the heat of the summer and then later during winter. And while it’s still mostly unhappy looking, we’ve been noticing some pops of yellow: flowers! A hint of what’s to come, no doubt. Wouldn’t it be nice to prep early and/or bring a little spring into your home now? We have just the vessel: a DIY modern concrete planter!
Spotted on Apartment Therapy awhile ago, we just love revisiting this project because it’s so darn clever, and such a fun way to bring an architectual, modern spin to your accessories. And what great gifts they would make! This Apartment Therapy post: How to Make Modern Cement Planters Using Packaging. Though this project looks to be a bit messy (maybe put some newspaper down) it does look fun. Everyone should make something out of concrete once (I feel like someone is and should comment about how I don’t know the difference between cement and concrete and have incorrectly used them interchangeably). More.

Nice work – dont worry most ppl dont know the difference between concrete and cement…my girlfriend always gets screws and nails mixed up too
I mean I just feel like I should know. Or at the very least I could have googled it for the post! But I appreciate your understanding!
interesting “DIY” project
