DIY: Black & White Checkered Floor

Categories: DIY + How To

We’ve rifted about our love of black and white checkered floors before — they are a familiar element in vintage-looking homes and a fun addition to add to modern homes. But what if you don’t have any in your home!? Or you don’t feel like ripping up the perfectly-good-but-not-aesthetically-pleasing tile floors you do have? Solution! We found a DIY project that will let you transform a boring floor into a dynamic black and white checkered floor!

So this project looks a bit time intensive. By bit, we mean it takes like 8 hours of drying time between coats. This is a definitely an extended weekend project that will involve having a plan B on where you’ll be doing the activities that usually take place in this room. But, we think it came out so cute, and is something someone who can paint can do. Not everyone has the ability to cut and lay tiles, but most anyone can wield a paint brush! You’ll need a lot of supplies for this project (some that do seem a rather volatile) but again, we think it’s worth it! As seen on Craft:!
