Megan Geckler is a Los Angeles-based installation artist, but frankly, that description sounds way too clinical for what it is that this talented artist creates. She creates site specific color experiences–little mini universes full of geometry and symmetry and life. She currently has two concurrent installations in Los Angeles in Hollywood and Beverly Hills and you are really lucky if you live in California and will be able to visit.
One is at an Urban Outfitters called “Seeing thoughts in repeat,” made of flagging tape and existing architecture. Another is in a group show called Playtime at the See Line Gallery in West Hollywood, and is titled “I laughed under my breath, over your shoulder,” and made of flagging tape, existing architecture and eye hooks. According to Megan, all titles are taken from song lyrics of bands that she loves.
