I love the use of deer in decor, but hate the killing of animals for sport, use in fashion, or interior design. So what’s the humane way to display these lovely creatures? In resin, wood, aluminum, steel and art form. In my opinion, the look of a real deer head is quite tacky anyhow, and the new spin on displaying deer is modern, clean and eccentric. Links below.

Agreed. Real animals mounted are creepy. There is another one from science and sons I think is pretty great: http://www.scienceandsons.com/plastidermy.php
I really like the wood carved heads even though I was skeptical at first. But see one first hand and you realize how great they are. My absolute fave is the moose!
Your link to the carved head appears to be broken. I found them here:

Great blog, read it daily!
Wow, I really like the ones in steel.
And this moose-lamp from Norweigan Northern Lightning is pretty nice to.
