I love things that help to keep me organized, especially top of desk. I've tried most everything, and have found the simpler a gadget or gizmo is, the better it works. The Snap It Up Organizer with bands will easily capture all the bits and pieces that collect over the week, all in one spot. Since it's both fun and attractive, I can keep it front and center and never very far from my reach.

Believe or not, but this little gadget is a Digital Music Player. Designed by Yong-Seong Kim, it is
a portable music player that will spin CDs and support USB flash drives to play MP3s. What this tells us is that things can be as basic as this little palm sized remote, a nice evolutionary design from the boxy electronics of the 90s. If it doesn't already, my prediction is that next generation of this product will play Blueray DVDs, burn CDs and/or be a full MP3 player.

While in Vancouver we made daily trips to Granville Island, visiting the great Public Market and exploring numerous shops featuring some of British Columbia's most talented designers. One of our favorites was The Wood Co-Op.
The Wood Co-Op is Canada's premiere showcase
for quality handcrafted contemporary design. The Gallery opened in
2000, showing the work of just 34 artisans. Today the Gallery features
the work of over 150 of British Columbia's best woodworkers, earning a
reputation as the definitive venue for heirloom quality wooden objects.
Designers from a Swedish design company, Smånsk, revealed these magnified Legos that stack up into a whimsical bookcase, at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February. Because it was only a prototype, they are now actively looking for a manufacturer to produce the product and bring into the mainstream. My bets are on IKEA, because the bold colors and fun shapes truly speak to their approach for design. According to Smånsk:
"All parts of the Skew Bookcase are identical. To assemble it you just rotate the parts and place them on top of each other. The identical parts provides easy manufacturing as well."

With no visible hardware, each piece remains sleek and modern in any space within your home or office. The Platform Bed has its own hidden storage within the optional headboard, while the powder coated white aluminum sliding doors on the Wall Mounted Shelf and Entertainment Shelf provide clean lined storage as well as contemporary beauty.
FSC-certified sustainably harvested wood is used to produce these elegant Knu Desks. I love the lightweight feel, curved lines and gorgeous woods used by Knu, and feel good knowing that the company utilizes good stewardship practices to produce their line of furnishings. Combining style and sustainability, Knu uses the most environmentally-friendly finish for the stainless steel legs, eco-friendly veneer choices and recycled parts to create the desk drawers. Should I also mention that the company currently offsets 100% of their carbon emissions? But just don't think of buying a Knu Desk because of it's minimal impact on the environment. Think of creating a unique home office that you can enjoy for years to come.
