Do you have a cute swimsuit?

Anthropology2

Sorry, this post is just for girls.  If you are one, probably you are watching catalogs and stores to find a perfect swimsuit for you.  And that means a cute one, that make you look fantastic.   That is usually very hard to find, because we don't want the most common model, or the typical color that everybody will wear.  That's why when I saw this beauties,  finally I thought on you ;)

These swimsuits are from Anthropology.  They are not very cheap, but sometimes when you find something special you deserve to spend a little more.   Well at the end you will decide... this is just my fashion advise.

I love the vintage style of it!

Leave Your Foot Print

Bootcrock

Be one of two winners to leave your personal signature, quite literally, in urban fashion.  Dr. Martens is having their annual competition to create a design for the next line of Dr. Martens.  We all wore them at one point in our adolescent life, hung out with someone who did or still wear them because you've broken them in so badly you can't imagine replacing them.  Well, there's something to be said for a company that lingers for decades solely on  their laced-up boots!

The competition allows you to create a design of your own, using pens, paint, various fonts, spray cans, symbols and images off your own computer. It even allows your to break in the leather with a lighter to give it an aged look.

The reason there are two winners, is one will be selected by visitors to their site and the other will be selected by a group of professional designers within the company.

The great thing is it's free and you can design as many as your heart desires. You could be the next winner!!!

Impulse Seattle

Willow_754
Willow dress, $754

I have fallen in love with a clothing boutique in Seattle, Washington called Impulse. The clothes they carry are beautiful, mostly practical and a few fanciful. However, I think all of the lines they carry share a similar aesthetic of  being luxuriant, comfortable, modern, and extremely wearable.

They carry international lines such as Isabel Marant, APC, Willow, United Bamboo, Plesner, Nomia, Rachel Comey and others that are extremely easy to wear while still being stylish and sometimes extremely innovative, such as their sweaters by  Junya Watanabe and Future Classic.

In my opinion, most of their selected designs remind me of the attractive elegance of early American clothing designer Claire McCardell. If there is a designer that created attractive, comfortable, and practical sportswear for women, then it was her. From her suits to her sundresses, I could see myself wearing everything she ever created. Even the few remaining copies of the patterns she created for McCall's Patterns are going for $175 on eBay and the like.

Impulse also maintains a Flickr group showing their merchandise.

Go there. I dare you.

Extra: Another company that shares the aesthetic but is not carried by Impulse is Lyell. I just couldn't leave them out so you can find their designs here.

Poor Jewelry Design

Jewelry2

The concept of fine Jewelry is changing.  Before,  Among more expensive the material and more complex the form of the jewel, it was more valued.  Now, the only thing that matters is design.  Among more original it's the design, better.  It doesn't matter if the jewel is made of paper, plastic, wood, stones, textile fiber, glass, rubber or even soap.

All right, the luxury jewelry is not dead, so you still can buy a diamond ring for your fiancee, but the truth is, this new kind of "poor jewelry" is every day more valued on the market.   Specially for the consumers with a young  soul and great sense of style.

Place the Cydwoq on your feet

Cydwoqsprint279

Old-World Craftsmanship for Modern Feet
is their motto. Cydwoq is the company name and it is pronounced "sidewalk." Designed by Rafi Balouzian and crafted by hand from quality leathers. The artist, not surprisingly, originally trained as an architect. That particular talent in spatial relationships, the ability to take flat shapes of cut leather, wrapping and interlocking them to become fully formed shoes is evident in his creations.

Heart_loafer255

The shoes are artisan crafted from some extremely imaginative designs; therefore, it is only right that the price reflects all of that. These shoes range from $239 to $400 for boots. For some, these would be a great indulgence, an investment, or a personal award worthy of saving and sacrifice.

Drama272   Ring

The men’s shoes are quite tempting; even though they are modern they would look incredible combined with a narrow three-button suit jacket and flat front trousers that break amid the top of each shoe. The women’s oxfords share design sensibilities with these designs and I can only imagine that they would inspire a strong, determined, and confident walk when worn.

If you cannot get yourself to their namesake Burbank, CA store, many retailers around the country carry their designs. This is a bonus, because a style may be on sale at one site because of a lack of interest (!?!) while still available at full price elsewhere.

Go on...treat yourself!
