I'll be moving to a new place soon, and am the most excited about making a huge shelf using two ladders! I saw it in an antique store today, and can't stop thinking about getting two plain wooden ladders and painting them pretty colors, and placing painted boards across the — Continue reading

I love the idea of a good brooch, and these by Little Sister Designs are the cream of the crop! They are made from silver with a piece of black acrylic sandwiched between them.
I bought one of Rob Cartelli's ceramic mugs recently at a craft fair, and love the shape and simplicity. The colors and stripes remind me of lined paper from school.
I’ve recently fallen in love with the prints of Studio ArtOcrat. So bright and cheerful! Perfect for Spring. Now the hard part is deciding which one I like best. Available here!
This lamp makes me want to take a bath in gummy bears…is that ok? Only ten will be made by design group JELLIO. They are made up of about 5,000 acrylic gummy bears (so, you can’t eat it?), and take about 2 months to make. I would totally bask in — Continue reading
I love these rugs by Lisa Lefebvre, made from a vintage wool Persian style carpet and vintage Dutch blanket. Images via here.
Yes it's true! Set for completion in 2011, Mexico's Underwater Museum will truly be a destination. A total of 400 sculptures will be lowered into the bottom of the Mexican Caribbean Ocean in the National Marine Park. The project was founded by Jaime Gonzalez Cano of The National Marine Park, — Continue reading
I am in love with these wooden iPhone and iPod cases from Vers Audio, located in Wayland MA. And, to make things sweeter, for every tree they use, they replant 100 through their partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation and the US Forrestry Service to re-forrest areas damaged by fire — Continue reading
I found this inspiring collection of book shelf photos at Wayside Violet and had to share them further with the world. via via via
When I saw colored bubbles, I almost did a back flip. I never even thought about them, but now that I know they exist, I must immerse myself in a cloud of them. It only took ten years of experimentation and discoveries. Thanks, Zubbles!! via Lost at E Minor
I know this blog is called 2 modern, about modern art and design, but if I didn’t know any better, I’d think these retro calendars were designed tomorrow. See more here!
I nearly popped from joy when I saw these images of an Ikea table done up in legos. A Parisian design team called Munchausen, which is made up of Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti, bought the kitchen island from Ikea and covered it in 20,000 Legos. Via
This watch is one sneaky accessory! It is just a band all around, and the numbers are hidden within the links. Soon available through the 100%STORE. Not yet though. via here
I found these creepy/beautiful images on my friend’s blog, Dinosaur Party. The series, by Beccy Ridsdel, is called Plastic Surgery on Porcleain. The artist is quoted as saying, “This work was an installation, set up as a lab experiment in progress, complete with scalpels, lab coats, needles and a microscope. — Continue reading
I recently experienced my 15 minutes of internet fame with these pac–man-esque rings that I made, but received loads of flack via comments on various websites about how disgusting my thumb was. What's coincidental is that just a few days before the whole "dirty thumb" debacle, I put out a — Continue reading
With the holidays coming up, you have to really stand out with your cards. My boyfriend gave me a card from Mean Cards, and I was so tickled by them I had to share. The drawings are minimal but full of feelings. Here are some good ones for the season. — Continue reading
I love a good cocktail, but hate how all the mixes I ever find are chock full of chemicals and colors. Imagine my delight when I spotted a rack with these Modmix bottles on it while shopping in a co-op the other day. Organic! With flavors like Lavender Lemon Drop, — Continue reading
