Blundstone Boots, They Hurt Your Feet But You Keep Wearing Them Anyway

Blundstone Boots, They Hurt Your Feet But You Keep Wearing Them Anyway

Blundstones , a formal masterpiece but at times a functional nightmare ie long miles on city concrete where they fight your gait rather than aid it. Although at times we’ve knocked off a quick 6 miles in NYC wearing these and lived to regret it. They have so many positives we’ll forgive them the negatives, which they weren’t designed to do anyway. The original idea dating back to 1870 I’m sure had in mind miles on horseback with the occasional kicking around to subdue a sheep or shoot a Roo. Their slip on ease and bedroom slipper lightness make for a great combo in a boot. Their classic looks, ie simple all leather upper with double pull on loops and durable rubber sole, are still unequalled after 140 years. Many copies but most fall short. Aussie Aussie Aussie! Winter Welcome Ale

Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome Ale is here! With a new illustration each year, this year with tobogganers, there’s a lot that goes into this packaging which makes the contents even more pleasing and one off. Not your average beer or brewery. The appearance of someone caring is not to be missed, and the contents back up the label. We collect the labels from the yearly productions as no two are alike, almost like free tiny works of art. Brewed in Tadcaster, Yorkshire, England, they must be doing something right, they’ve been in in business since 1758, before King George’s problem with the colonies. To be savored one at a time, not a 6 pack experience! Continue reading

“You must know that hell exists because you already live in it”

Just saw The American. Engaging, great panoramic shots of the Apennines and Abruzzo region of Italy, not to mention frozen lakes in the blue fading light of a Swedish winter day. And George Clooney more uptight and nervous than you've ever seen him in any movie, always one eye over — Continue reading
