Highlights from New York Design Week 2015

Moooi NYC ShowroomA visit to Moooi’s brand new Manhattan showroom (above) was a highlight of New York Design Week, which featured a slew of city-wide events, including ICFF,  Wanted Design, and Designjunction.  Breakfast at Knoll, with a lecture by Harry Bertoia’s daughter, Celia, was a fittingly inspiring way to end the week. Here, a few more snapshots of our visit to New York, with more to come in the days and weeks ahead.
Keiou Design textured modules

Canada’s Keiou Design Lab, specialists in surface design, exhibited monochromatic, textured modules for walls and ceilings, made from innovative, eco-friendly plastics.

Pablo Uma Sound Lantern

Uma is a new portable Sound Lantern that illuminates whilst transmitting music—from Pablo.

Fritz Hansen Series 7 60th Annniversary Edition

Fritz Hansen is observing the 60th anniversary of Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7 Chair, with two new limited edition models: in pink & gold and navy & black. 

Lime Sun rug by Ceadogan Rugs and Andrew Ludick

At Wanted Design, Irish contemporary design was represented, in part, by the circular Lime Sun Rug, a collaboration of Dublin’s Ceadogán Rugs and pottery designer Andrew Ludick

Emeco Alfi Chair

Emeco dedicated its entire booth to the various iterations of the Alfi chair by Jasper Morrison, made from 100% industrial waste.

Flavor Paper Marilyn

Stopping us dead in our tracks was FlavorPaper‘s new Marilyn wallpaper range, showcased in various colorways.

Knoll Bertoia Collection 100th Anniversary Gold Edition

2015 marks the 100th anniversary of Harry Bertoia’s birth, and Knoll is releasing a limited-edition Bertoia Chair collection, coated in 18 carat gold.

Bulb chandelier by Rosie Li

At Designjunction, a gorgeous brass modular chandelier by Rosie Li.

Mondo Collection Sofa

A statement sofa, if there ever was one, at the booth of Manhattan’s Mondo Collection.
