Megalith Table from Duffy London

Furniture & Lighting

Megalith-Table_05wDesign studio Duffy London sent over these photos of their new Megalith Table, and, needless to say, we are duly wowed. Designer Christopher Duffy has created an optical illusion of sorts with a composition in which a series of monolithic powder coated steel elements appear to be in the process of capsizing under the weight of their massive glass table top. Duffy, we’re told, took inspiration for the table’s base (also available in both white and polished stainless steel finish) from the mysterious structures central to the 1948 short story The Sentinel, by Arthur C. Clark, famously remade 20 years later as the film, 2001: A Space Odyssey—and much like the Stanley Kubrick film, the fairly spectacular Megalith Table defies description.

Really love the uniqueness of the design. It’s like it’s about to fall but I’m sure this is durable and quality.
