Screen shot 2014-01-22 at 10.47.34 AMContemporary coat racks have gotten fanciful lately (see some recent examples here, here, and here), but the Munich design studio Schellmann Furniture isn’t having any of it. Their exceedingly reductive Coatrack sticks to the basics: a linear vertical rectangle supporting a single horizontal bar. This tubular steel construction, offered in three decidedly un-showy colorsblue, white and slate greyisn’t radical so much as radically simple. Which, come to think of it, is pretty radical in itself.coat rack

Simplicity is underrated – we don’t always need bold prints and patterns to make a statement, a simple piece can do the same job.
