The Wright Stuff: Scandinavian Design On the Auction Block

Last week’s sale of Scandinavian Design at Chicago’s Wright auction house was, predictably, chock-full of A-list Nordic names—Jacobsen, Aalto, Henningsen, Juhl—and some less familiar (but no less desirable) ones. Whether iconic or obscure, the lineup of furniture and objects was a reminder of just why Nordic sensibilites remain the benchmark for admirers of graceful utilitarianism. Here, a partial review of the gems that make our bucket list—and made us wish we had some loose change in our pockets.
