Proof that inventiveness knows no bounds, is this Kickstarter concept called Food Huggers, by San Francisco food and design lovers Michelle Ivankovic and Adrienne McNicholas. Their ingenious food storage concept is aimed at those leftover halves of vegetables that inevitably end up in the refrigerator, doomed to either diminished freshness or the garbage bin. Silicon Food Huggers, offered in a range of 4 sizes to fit most any onion, tomato, or pepper, grip the remaining halves, extending freshness and reducing waste. And, when not going halves with vegetables, Food Huggers can do lid duty on lid-less jars and cans. This is what we call thinking smart—and cute!
