Last year, the fashion house Jil Sander had tongues wagging with its Vasari lunch bag, a specially coated brown paper (yes, paper) lunch bag, which sold (and sold out) at a whopping $290. Apparently unfazed, and possibly galvanized, by the snickering directed their way, a leather version is up for grabs. The Italian-made black leather design, marketed to men, is still patterned after the humble brown bag, complete with fold-down top that’s discretely kept in place with a magnetic clasp. Embossed with the brand’s gold logo, it retails for a jaw-dropping $630. No matter which way you package it, that’s one expensive lunch.
