Maybe it’s that we’re particularly attuned to the visual cues of Easter, with its accompanying subtle hues and promise of spring, but we’ve found ourselves beguiled by the still life photography of Kate Mathis. A New York-based photo stylist with a host of shelter magazine clients, Mathis specializes in creating blissfully beautiful vignettes that speak to the rituals of everyday life (albeit an exquisitely curated everyday life). The gentle blues and greens in this selection of photographs—and yes, there is that timely tableau of eggs—have us squarely in the mood for the weekend’s festivities. Though, truthfully, any weekend would benefit from moments so artfully spent.
