Art & Design

It’s hard to imagine the intellectual and serious Josef Hoffmann laboring over the details and prettiness of a botanical design, but that, presumably, is what he was doing in 1904 when he designed Blueberry, this exceedingly beautiful wallpaper pattern now being produced by Studio Printworks for the design shop of New York’s Austrian-German Neue Galerie.

These look like ucalyptus leaves to me.
These trees also have tiny little acorns that look like ‘ghungroos’ (Indian word for small bell-like stuff worn on ankles during traditional indian dances)
