It’s been a while since the styling of a single room stopped us dead in our tracks, but just try turning away from this bathroom, featured in the UK edition of Elle Decoration. If ever a case existed for allowing a single object to do all the work, this would be it. Seems you just have to buy an astonishingly beautiful, sculptural, boat-referencing, (presumably) custom-made wooden bathtub to elevate a relatively ordinary, albeit pristine, room into a jaw-dropping piece of interior design theatre. Oh, and that bright red, illuminated signage letter in the background? We give that an A+ as well.

Great article, and stunning visual. I love the minimal aspect of the whole concept; however, I just wanted to ask this (asinine?) question: how does the water drain off the wooden tub? This looks great in theory, but there are things that would make me think twice (living in a humid environment is one of those).
oh, i wish i knew who made this tub! i would sail away in it…
