You have to hand it to the Vienna-based design studio, Mischer ’ Traxler. Just when it seemed impossible for designers to get any more inventive with the shape of a bowl, this duo has found a way to keep things interesting. Their Reversed Volumes line of food-safe vessels takes its cue from the asymmetrical outer forms of fruits and vegetables—and the results are anything but clumsy. By applying the organic matter to a ceramic powder mixture which hardens without firing, the bowls are moulded around detailed imprints that are at once recognizable, yet artful enough for any elegant table setting. And just feast your eyes on those deliciously creamy colors!
