What is with all the weather indoors? First I saw Berndnaut Smilde’s Nimbus pieces; now I see Tomas Saraceno’s Cloudy House installation at Andersen’s Contemporary Berlin. Saraceno’s exhibition includes a cloud installation, sculpture, video and photographs. The clouds are constructed of matte, white paper which are suspended individually by nylon wires, floating above the viewer’s head. The gallery becomes a domain of molecular and spherical elements resembling the white plumes in the sky.
And I would be remiss not to mention Daniel Arsham’s cloud installation Pixel Cloud, made of plastic and paint, resembling ping pong balls masquerading as pixels.
Is there something in the air or is it just that great minds think alike? Well, it is all a bit surreal to me. Does your house have a cloud in it? That reminds me–I better look for my umbrella.
Have an infinitely modern day!
