Atlanta, Georgia-based artist Drew Tyndell is really doing something special with wood. Using flat pieces of intricately cut and sometimes-painted different grains and species of wood, he creates flat, 2D art pieces that sometimes depict 3D ideas. It’s meta and fresh all in one. With an obvious eye for composition and color, these beauties would be a great alternative to a plain, ol’ painting on canvas. The ones above are from his 2013 line, but we highly suggest a visit to his online portfolio to see all of his work.
