Holy wood-wrapped, sputnik-ceilinged, golden-toned, bright, accessible modern home, Batman! Sheesh! Could we love this cool space anymore? A remodel by Austin-based architecture firm Stuart Sampley, this is a perfect example of how homes of all styles can incorporate modern design a little bit.
Centered around this boldly colored map, we love how the golden tones of the yellow of the map complement the golden tones of the wood. It’s a modern space and a trendy space, but it’s also surprisingly soothing, a peaceful home. The Sputnik light fixture definitely adds a retro vibe to the space, but a few of the pieces are vintage and traditional.

It’s a lot of wood but it works. Really beautiful. Love the accent colors of blue-green, citrus and grey.
I thought so too! It is a lot of wood but you just don’t seem to mind because it’s so nice looking. Thanks for visiting!
I really love this space. The designer made a great choice with the light fixture, it’s very fun and retro looking.
We love it too!
