Claire Sherman’s Subtle Abstract Landscapes

Categories: Art + Graphics

What would an alien landscape look to an outsider’s eyes? What would art of such geologic features look like to a strange world’s artists? We’re not sure, of course, because life on other planets has yet to be discovered, let alone landscape features, but while we don’t know exactly where the inspiration of Claire Sherman’s paintings are located, we know we like the look of it.

With soft, subtle colors, these aren’t paintings meant to jar the senses in any way. If anything they soothe the soul, a bit. Though there are noticeable brush strokes — dynamic ones, even — they’re still nice to look at. These would look great in a modern space.
