New/Neat: Sergio Mannino’s Non-Flying Carpet

Trends & Events

Along with the fabulous finds we spotted at ICFF, held at the Javits Center, just down the road was another great grouping of design folks over at Wanted Design. We spotted a lot of fun items (including some fabulous stuff as usual from David Trubridge). One such fun item is the Non-Flying Carpet by Sergio Mannino, handmade in Nepal by professional artisans.

It’s the first modular carpet to have uniquely shaped pieces that fit together puzzle-perfectly, with the idea of recreating a sort of indoor courtyard feel. Different configurations of the six carpets will be on sale online on Fab.com. Find more information at Sergio Mannino’s website. Watch a video here:

I like this idea of putting together your own rug. If you are ever bored you have the ability to change it up at your finger tips. How would you suggest to place it in a house?

We love that idea so much, too! I think it could go in absolutely any space at all.
