Last week we showcased a few beautiful modern homes from Japan and we’re bringing you another house from that region today. Called the House-DT (again, with the letters in house names?) we’re really enjoying the jewel-box effect we feel like this home has. In other words, isn’t it kind of fun that it seems to be a perfectly rectangular box, with a window cut out so that you can see the pretty treasures inside?
Designed by Daijirou Takakusa, we love the simplicity of the exterior—the smoothness, the darkness, the boxy-ness of it. How it almost seems to stand apart from the rest of the world. How it seems to protect and encase especially well. Of course, the interior is a light wood surprise. Blonde, simple, modular. Boxy, yes, but in a warmer, more welcoming sort of way.
What do you think about this modern home?
