DIY: Sexy herringbone chair
DIY + How To
We see a lot of DIY projects that we like and think are neat doing the job that we do. But boy does this take the sexily-patterned chair cake. Spotted on Martha Stewart’s website (who knew she had such hip style—and it’s from a few years ago, no less) we can’t say enough great things about this project. Why? Because usually when you have a chair you don’t like the look of, you can paint it all one color, or if you’re an artist, paint it anything you want. But if you don’t possess amazing illustrative skills, you’re stuck with usually one solid color. Not anymore.
Martha’s minions take you through it all with this project: what materials to use, what tools to utilize, how to make this neat pattern and heck, they even suggest some color combinations that will look good and get your modern juices flowing. We’ll admit, this looks to be a bit tedious when it comes to keeping the momentum going and finishing the project (you don’t want to have a chair with great looking herringbone pattern up top and then sloppier and sloppier at the bottom as you lose patience), but if you block enough time off to do it, we think you might end up with quite the enviable DIY project.
