Best New Modern Seating of 2011

Modern Decor

It gives your legs a nice rest after a tired day of standing and it looks great when it balances out your other furniture. Seating, whatever would we do without you? Let’s just be upfront; 2Modern has some truly outstanding modern seating options of all shapes, colors, styles and designs. How does one come up with some sort of “best of” list when it’s all awesome? Well, it’s tough, but we enlisted the help of 2Modern founder Jennifer Sitko to grab her favorite new to 2Modern in 2011 furniture options. She did a stand-up job. Today’s round-up task: awesome new-to-2Modern (and many newly-designed this year) seating of 2011:

  1. Fatboy – Metahlowski The same great Fatboy design, this time in rockin’ metallics
  2. Mater – Recycled Aluminum Stool Good design and feel-good elements to the company? Bonus!
  3. Kartell – Masters Chair (Set of 2) This design is just so cool. Perfect for lots of different places in the home.
  4. Heller – Frank Gehry Collection Color Cube Versatile. Flexible. And you could own something by one of the top architects!
  5. Knoll – Bertoia Side Chair Unupholstered A classic finally came to 2Modern and we’re like proud new parents.
What were your favorite new seating options in 2011? Did one particular chair or couch really catch your eye this last year? Did one company really stand out from the rest in terms of designing new seating options? What are you looking forward to seeing in 2012? Let us know in the comments!!

Anything that is modern looking like these amazing chairs is right up my alley! What I love about these chairs is they can be used in so many different ways! The chair designs I’ve seen from the interior design students at FIDM are so amazing! It’s great to see how creative people can be :)
