We love those mountain views! This is a beautiful piece of architecture from Washington State, specifically the rural Eastern side of it. Called “Miner’s Refuge” you can see immediately that this modern architecture stands out from and blends in with its surroundings. The shape of it really hits our senses first. It both sort of emulates the idea of a narrow tunnel, while the deep “V” of the rooftop is reminiscent of the “V” between those mountain peaks. Intended to be a summer retreat in a harsh environment, materials were considered carefully and are similar to what’s used in vernacular architecture. And you know we’re huge suckers for modern architecture in stunning natural settings. By Johnston Architects PLLC.
