We’re loving these imagined microcosms by artist Joseph Phillips. Colorful, detailed, illustrative and thought-provoking, each scene interposes different landscapes with each other, some related, some not, and all in the confines of some sort of man made structure that holds it all together. It almost feels like you are looking through a book of some sort, which details how to create the backdrop of a life that you want. Placed on a background of white, these little colorful universes float ominously; it makes you wonder if the inhabitants of these places realize there’s nothing beyond what they know and find comfortable. A parable for our own lives? We certainly hope not. See more of his work here.
