Scenario: It’s the weekend! You found some cool piece of furniture on the side of the road that you’re ready to tackle in a number of different ways from DIY projects you’ve found on the Internet in a completely unique way that will make it totally yours. You’ve got all your materials and supplies ready to go. You’ve set aside some time and some space in your home to do the project. You’re ready. But oh no! You just went to go start taking the piece apart (or perhaps take down some cabinets, shelves or who knows what else!) and there’s a stripped screw! Don’t let this party pooper ruin your DIY party plans. Our fun DIY tip find of the day? Use a rubber band! The rubber will help create a grip between your screwdriver and the stripped screw’s head and hopefully allow you to take that sucker out without any further damage to your piece. Neat, huh?

Would be a great idea to have a small needle nosed vice grips in your tool kit too for this job. Once the screw is out a ways, grab it with the vice grips to turn and pull. Another piece of friendly advice from The Fixer!
