We Like What They Do: Michael Jantzen
Sometimes modern is combining art and furniture to create meaningful pieces that defy expectations and delight the senses. We’re really enjoying the work of artist and designer Michael Jantzen. It appears that Michael’s medium of choice is hundreds of pieces of wood held together by hundreds of screws. The result is a piece that at some angles appears quite random, and from other angles appears geometric and mathematical. It looks like he enjoys creating sculpture (which we think would look great in a modern home) but then got the good idea of using some of these sculptures as bases for tables. Low and natural, they are like a cross between Warren Platner’s geometric dining table bases and Isamu Noguchi’s natural base coffee tables. We like a lot. More here.
