Stunning Window: Cascade House

Categories: Architecture + Interiors

We’re big fans of the floor-to-ceiling, all-glass, modern window wall as much as anyone, but sometimes we crave something a little different, a little new. Isn’t that what modern design is all about — finding fresh, unique ways of doing something? This isn’t the first time we’ve seen glass stacked to create this affect, but it certainly is a stunning example.

Taken from the Architizer website: “Along the street façade is a prominent glass privacy screen made from 475 panels of 19mm vertically stacked glass. Set in a crenellated pattern, this sculptural screen allows a maximum diffusion of light while providing visual privacy from the street. The screen also becomes a striking element when viewed from the street. Even on the greyest days of the year, its subtle shifts in colour and texture imbue the street with vitality.” Project located in Toronto, Canada and designed by Paul Raff Studio.

What do you think about this glass affect?! Let us know in the comments.

  1. Interesting, very interesting

  2. Modern homes and houses that are getting a face lift giving it a more contemporary look or simply making it more effective at weather resistance and exterior protection need high quality modern house windows to really complete that look and to maximize insulation as well as style.
