We’re still so totally into the whole mundane landscape as beautiful trend in photography we’ve been seeing so much of lately. In a lot of ways these photos of Sam Diephuis aren’t really of any pretty subject matter, but yet they are stunning. They convey so much depth, sadness, hope and resignation. The color palettes are earthy, yet kind of artificial, too. They are both where we’ve come from and where we’re going. These photos are from just one series on his website called “Winnemucca,” presumably from the city of Winnemucca, Nevada. But please check out the rest of his work in his portfolio on his website; he has one of the most unique perspectives and fresh eyes we’ve ever seen. Really good stuff.

so wild and beautiful..
I grew up in Wmca but moved away in 1997. These are gorgeous photos that make me feel a bit homesick.
Aw…sorry for the homesickness, but it’s always nice when an artist can evoke such strong emotions with their work.
