What do you get when you mix Arne Jacobsen’s Swan Chair, a charitable cause and 19 creative, famous designers? You get the Pink Swan Project, an idea by Suite New York to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Designers like Alexandra Von Furstenberg, Campion Platt, Jamie Drake, Jonathan Adler, Karim Rashid, Kelly Hoppen, Madeline Weinrib, Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Nate Berkus, Simon Doonan, Vicente Wolf, Victoria Hagan, Windsor Smith and more will take a stab at redecorating and reinterpreting the look of the Swan Chair. They will be on a rotating view at New York’s Gagosian Shop during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. And if you love one, you’ll be able to purchase them on the online auction site Charitybuzz.com.
What do you think about current designers reinterpreting influential Mid-Century Modern designs? Okay never? Totally cool idea? Okay if it’s for charity? Let us know in the comments!
