ICFF 2011: Graypants

Modern Decor

The clever and attractive fellas behind Graypants stunned Jennifer and Danielle with their hand made pendants lights made from reclaimed cardboard. Jennifer had this to say: “Seattle based Greypants knocked our pants off with their dumpster-diving method of retrieving used carboard to create elegant hand made pendant lamps. I asked about the cleaning of the nooks and cranies of the very fine details of the cross sections of the cardboard. We’re happy to report it’s as easy as pie–compressed air easily makes your lamp like new. ”  Find out more about these guys on their website, Facebook or Twitter.

I have to say that I liked the cardboard lamps. The way how light is diffuse on the card creates an intimate ambiance. Well done. But I’m one of those persons fascinated by the past so I love everything that comes with a full package of heritage. I remember a really cool brand who takes inspiration from the classics…if there is anyone interested, take a look: http://www.behance.net/gallery/HERITAGE-Collection-Presentation/776418

These guys have really taken credit for others designs. I have seen several of the product over the past decade by the original designers. Not cool to rip off the under dog artists guys.
