Modern Art: Play Me, I’m Yours

Art & Design

We posted about the amazing national art project that had come to Austin recently, called “Play Me, I’m Yours” awhile back on the 2Modern blog. Well the curator Johnny Walker has spent time documenting the colorful characters that have embraced the 14 pianos sprinkled around Austin, and the Art Alliance Austin‘s Flickr account is a moving testament to the power of public and modern art.

As an Austin resident, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing many of these pianos sprinkled around and see folks interact with them. To gather around a stranger playing a piano on top of a bridge looking over at the Austin skyline with the sun going down is truly a memory I will never forget. You can bet I’ll be there on April 30, 4 pm at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge and Garden in Austin, Texas for the “Play Me, I’m Yours” Closing Performance.
