We’re such huge fans of Polyvore here at 2Modern (heck, you can find a room styler on our website!). And according to a recent survey…you guys love it, too! Let’s use this amazing, modern online tool to explore styles, ideas, thoughts and have fun, shall we? Today we tackle geometric items and whether there’s ever too much of a good thing?
In these two creations, Brave Space’s Tetrad Bookshelf, Magis’ Chair One and LZF’s Margarita lamp set the geometric tone immediately. In the first set, the geometry is pumped up a notch by adding Gandia Blasco’s Caleido Wool Rug and Boom Metro’s Modern End Table. Though we love the look of it, we can’t help but notice that lines are very strong. Is this too much like the space a robot might live in?
In the second set, we try to alleviate some of that geometry by using instead a plush and organic By Second Studio Velour Rug and a wild and free Surface Collective Incognito Wall Tattoo. We certainly take the geometry down a notch, but also add in some new colors to the palette and possibly a piece of art that doesn’t quite fit the character of the room.
Which one do you like the most? The one with geometric overload or the one that’s balanced out more? Think you can do better? Make your own perfectly balanced geometric-inspired set with Polyvore!

I like the geometric overload one best. I think in a room, with space between the objects, this arrangement will flow better than the other.
