The talented Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura has won the 2011 Pritzker Prize, an award presented by Chicago’s billionaire Pritzker family and given to living architects who have “produced consistent and significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture.” Though de Moura doesn’t have any work in the United States and so is not well-known here, a few glances at his structures and you can see he is well-deserving of the prize.
