It’s probably not news to know that vintage has been a big trend in a lot of arenas of the home circle in recent years. From vintage clothing, to vintage furniture, to vintage art, accessories and more, there’s one more area that the past is creeping back into the present: paint color.
One of our favorite Austin interior designers, Misty Adair, discussed on her blog the big trend of vintage paint colors coming back in a big way in 2011. A number of factors, socioeconomic, physical and others could be contributing to this trend, but truthfully, we think vintage colors are coming back because they are so good-looking!
Soft, unassuming, great for making your furnishings and yourself pop, vintage colors are a great place to start if you are thinking about re-doing your home’s wall paint color palette. And the best news? They go great with almost any style of home or furniture design. Misty has some great suggestions on where to start with this trend from top paint manufacturers like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams, so be sure to check out her original post for a great starting point.
