Oh man we like what this Brooklyn-based designer and artist has been up to lately. Just recently bursting onto the scene with some pretty fresh designs, if you haven’t heard of April Hannah yet, it’s only a matter of time before you start seeing her work on the larger market.
We stumbled across her work while searching for Brooklyn furniture designers (they’re such a creative bunch). We’re absolutely delighted by her modern aesthetic. Inspired by patterns in nature, we really like how her work exudes a natural feel, but also has a modern, geometric look to it. Her work, especially those pieces for kids, uses sustainable materials and non-toxic coatings, too.
Need more proof that she’s a fabulous emerging designer to watch? “In December 2010, April was awarded a residency at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD Museum) in New York City, where she will be designing and producing functional, sculptural objects through February of 2011.” Go April!
