Catching The WAVE
While walking the floor of the Dwell On Design show in Los
Angeles this past weekend, this could only catch my eye. I was not sure if it was a hang glider but
quickly realized it was better because I would not need lessons to use it.
The WAVE hammock was designed by Erik Nyberg and Gustav
Strom and is manufactured by Royal Botania, known for fabulous outdoor
furniture and providing a canopy which offers 86% sun protection. First
launched at The Hotel Show in Dubai in June 2008, where it received huge attention
and design acclaim. The WAVE, is winner of
Interior Design Magazine’s Best of the Year Award. Which if funny since it is design for the
exterior. But who cares great design is
WAVE creates a unique floating impression by being pivoted on
one single point at the base. The construction is strong enough to withstand
the weight of people and weather conditions.
The WAVE can gently swing if required or remain static for ultimate
