Although my
devoted Modernist predecessors might not agree, I happen to believe that the
combination of old and new can often result in outstanding design. Case in
point, these Neolion
chandeliers by Czech designers Boadesign
Studio.
In development since 2006, the collection merges the grand forms of
chandeliers of old with the latest borosilicate glass technology. The resulting
bends, curves and loops are as bold as they are Baroque, and although the range
was designed specifically with hotels and restaurants in mind, I suspect we’ll be
seeing these making their way into a stylish home or two as well.
