The Composition Chair... ¿Art or Design?
My first thought about this chair was... Which is the most important issue to design a chair: Beauty or Comfort? I like this proposal from the designer Kouichi Okamoto, I think is interesting, classic (shape) and aggressive at the same time. If anyone take a seat on it, it seems to be flexible, because it use the same principle of a mattress, but... what happened if I want to seat naked on it? where the comfortable thing goes to?
I love this chair, because it make me think... Oh!, by the way, is not that the purpose of art?
Via Contemporist.

The general rule is - form follows function. This is certainly more art; I mean imagine getting dog hairs and cup cake crumbs stuck in that! As for sitting naked in it, you could always use a cushion - if it wouldn't defeat the integrity of its design...

Why did you have to ask the question of sitting in it naked? That hurt just thinking about it. This chair is probably more about art than function, though as an outdoor item, it would be great!

Well, your question is very interesting. Why I think on seating naked on it? Simple... because I know that I will be hurt on it, so then you realize that this chair is only for dressed people. That is why I think is aggressive. This chair is not for you really... is for the "dressed version" of you. And that is a sad thing, because... this chair don't accept me like I'truly am.

Interesting concept - looks really harsh & cold, though.
