Dharma Initiative Food... for you

If you are fan of Lost, like me, you probably know well these labels.   These are not very cute, sure we will find best packaging examples in the supermarket, but something we can not deny is that, these labels are mysterious, just like the TV serial.

So... how to get all this Dharma food products? Easy.  You don't have to buy it.   Just need to download the labels on this site, and put on your own food.  You will notice that they are many alternatives avaliable.

I can't wait to invite my friends to dinner and say: Oh, do you know these packaging too? I always thought that only Dharma members knew about it.  I have recently returned to the island, just to share with you a sample of our food.  Hahahaa... Enjoy this design's joke at home!

25 years of logos.

If you like graphic design and logos you must check this out! Internationally acclaimed design and branding firm Duffy & Partners has released the top 150 logos its created over the past quarter century. Looking through the slide show some logos immediately popped out at me (Fresca, Miller Lite, Bahamas), while others I'd never seen and were fantastic to discover (Cruet & Whisk). Below I've picked some of my favorites, but you should definitely stop by Duffy's Web site to check them all out for yourself.

For those of us who celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, there's still plenty of time to stock up on chocolates and flowers, but if you really want to show your mother how much you love her...

Tell her she's da bomb. (Apologies to all fathers for having used a truly dad-joke worthy pun.)

A Peaceful Bomb is a playful piece with a serious side - Taiwanese design duo Owen & Cloud designed these ceramic vessels as a succinct, stylized statement against war.

I've often used photographs as inspiration for color palettes in my design work, but have never thought of using it as the final product!

Gustavo Garcia's Web site Susu allows users to create custom art prints based on patterns generated from their personal photos. This work will be showcased at New York's School of Visual Arts "Potential Energy: 19 Designers Set Their Ideas in Motion," an exhibition of products, campaigns and services developed by graduating Design MFA students. Unfortunately Susu is still just a prototype and not commercialized, one of the goals of the show however is to help students get attention and help bring these projects closer to commercial reality.

 

This is going to be a fantastic show!

Laban

I`m lucky enough to live just a few steps from one of the most beatiful buldings in London. Laban is a very well known school dance which focus on contemporary dance education. The good thing is (at least, for me) that they also offer a few classical ballet lessons, so I can get to go there once a week.

Laban is the largest purpose-built contemporary dance centre in the world. The building was designed by Herzog and de Meuron, the Pritzker Prize winning (2001) Swiss architects who also designed the Tate Modern and the National Stadium in Beijing (2008 Olympic Games).

Herzog and de Meuron collaborated with visual artist Michael Craig-Martin to create this iconic and bold building.

The building has been designed to ensure full access for people with a wide range of disabilities from wheelchair users to those with sensory and learning difficulties.

By day the building's semi-translucent cladding allows traces of dance and movement to be visible through the walls. By night, the building becomes a coloured beacon with light and movement spilling out illuminating the surrounding area.
