A Toilet on Skis

Categories: Architecture + Interiors

Skibath

Wallpaper has been used for centuries to decorate rooms with graphic imagery, but in some Japanese ski resorts this idea has been taken to a whole new level.  In order to promote Georgia Max Coffee, Tokyo advertising agency, Tugboat, has transformed toilet stalls into a virtual ski jumps.  When someone takes a seat on the toilet they find themselves immersed inside the photomontage with wraps across the floor. Yet it isn’t until you reach for the toilet paper that you find the advertising message, which declares that Georgia Max Coffee is a ”super zinging taste-explosion”.  Whether this is an effective campaign remains to be seen.  The invasion of product marketing into every space of our lives is troubling, but it’s hard to deny intriguing quality of this work.

  1. That is so cool. HAHA! I hope people really make those.

  2. Surely they’re taking the piste ;)

  3. I think that one of the most clever ideas for the bathroom is the Bidet Toilet Seat. The COCO Bidet makes the whole bathroom experience more refreshing and practical.

  4. That bathroom sounds extrordiary i think its a clever idea .

  5. So funny! Is there NO place a person can go without escaping advertising?
Oh well, gotta give them points for creativity.

  6. Where you can put a bidet – you can normally put a shower. Seems a much better option. Shower sales going up…bidet sales going down!!

  7. I saw the world’s smallest bathroom on the internet a few weeks ago (cant remember the link now) they actually transformed an old closet into a full bathroom. The bathroom floor had a drain in it so you just showered where the toilet and the sink were! I am not sure if I would want to use anything in that bathroom after I took a shower and everything was soaking wet.

  9. Really a very nice idea! Keep up such great work.

  10. I suggest that you also try installing a bidet in your CR. It’s good to have one. I actually bought one from http://products.mercola.com/toilet-bidet/ And I must say that it’s really worth it.
