The Little House That Survived

2008

This little white farm house has survived being moved across New York City on a trailer and having it’s front wall actually fall off during renovation.

1967

The owners; Ingrid and Sven Bernhard, loved their home so much that when in 1967, the Archdiocese of New York offered them money for the house in order to raze their Upper East Side block to build a home for the elderly, they chose instead to move the house across town. Even though it would cost the young couple moving costs and $30,000 for a new plot of land.

1974

Now owned by Suri Bieler and Eliot Brodsky, the house was remodeled in 2001 to gain a bit more space for their growing family. I love a story were a little house wins out in the big city!
