Hip Joints

Back in the day, joints in carpentry were made by hand so they were simple and all about function. With new school techniques ( CNC Wood Routers) we can create joints that are functional and add a decorative element in the object as well.

The idea lends itself for different options such as child furniture with the joinery being a story, a more technical approach where the joint itself is the instruction manual. Or a subtle visual joy where the joints are beautiful and functional.

Nathan Wierink has designed this table to demonstrate some awesome joints that you won't want to hide or overlook.  These ain't your Grand Pappy's joints !
