Graffiti Lamp by D.E.C.A.F.

D.E.C.A.F. is a design collective of international multi disciplined designers whose skills and cooperation give Design a new identity.  The initials mean Design-Environment-Concept-Art-Furniture.

At 100% Design in London D.E.C.A.F. presented the Graffiti Lamp.  Inspired by the street Graffiti artists, those who work in the dark,  Lamp was created to shed light on their work.

Per D.E.C.A.F. "Graffiti is vandalism, but is it? Or is it art? Are we not selling in art galleries graffiti pieces made by street artists that work in the dark of the night where their own identity is hidden, And was there not just a major public museum display of street art in London, Tate Modern by artists who only sign their pieces with their street name, like “Blu”, “Faile” “JR” or "Nunca."

This product is inspired in that moment: the shadows of the night, the art expression and the freedom in communication with the city.  Lamp sheds light to this moment, allowing the artist lurking in the dark to bring the city into the living room, communicating with one individual at a time in the comfort of their own homes."

DECAF's work is very promising - I just looooove that lamp. I think it's both very artistic, usable, and makes a great statement. If I could only afford it, I'd put in our coworking space in San Francisco. I know people here would appreciate smth like that!
