Your ceiling doesn't have to be the only one having fun in your home anymore. Now, the Nelson style has come to the lamp!
Introducing The Bubble Lamp Shade
Taken from the Modernica website:
"Modernica, Inc. has reconfigured the design of the iconic Bubble Lamp designed by George Nelson in 1948 to accommodate existing table and floor lamp bases. Modernica has been the official manufacturer and distributor of the George Nelson Bubble Lamps for twelve years. With a lack of ready made, high quality lamp shades made in the modernist vein, Modernica has invented a new shade based on the George Nelson Bubble Lamp. The idea was to invent a modernist lamp shade to fit most traditional bases. Almost everyone has an orphan lamp base in need of a shade. The shade has the DNA of Nelson’s Bubble Lamp while referencing the shade of a traditional lamp shade."
And while we're on the subject of lampshades, do you know what the different types of lampshades are? Do you know how to fit a shade to a lamp? For those who have never considered the subject of lampshades before, it can be surprizingly complex. Genevieve over at Swank Lighting has some great tips on how to fit shades on lamps. Check it out!

I grew up in a house with bubble lamps and went through a period of hating them. I thought they were absolutely the ugliest thing we had in the house. Now, though, when I look back, I wish I knew what happened to those lamps because they were too gorgeous. You wouldn't think they'd work with so many decor styles, but they do!
